When I start feeling anxious, impatient, angry and frustrated, I immediately realize I have lost my inner-peace. Often in the mix of all those emotions, the last thing I want to do is slow down. After many years of feeling like a hamster in a hamster-wheel, I have learned that it is advantageous for me to stop immediately and rest in Him. I know this is the only way back to peace, clarity and focus of what is truly important.

I absolutely love a Saturday morning, having no scheduled plans for the day, dropping in my favorite coffee shop to have my warm soy chai latte along with a sweet pastry. It is truly a treat, the warmness of the tea on a chilly day and the sweetness of the pastry for my sweet tooth. It’s the little pleasures of life that bring me the greatest joy. Taking the morning in by either meditating on the word or cultivating my creative side by researching the latest trends, it is only in these moments of rest and surrender that lead me back to my inner-peace. These are the best moments of life because they re-center me, reminding me of what is truly important at this particular moment in this particular season. Although I fail to consistently do this in my life, it gives me peace to know I am always one step away from inner-peace. Living in the worry, anxiousness, and circumstances of life results in me just going through the motions. I surrender these feelings so that they do not distract me and take my focus off of loving and enjoying the amazingly beautiful present moment that is occurring right in front of me!

Hebrews 4:1
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. (NIV)
Stay tuned, I will be posting some more fashion tips for spring and some ideas for accessories. I was recently inspired by a fashion event I attended a few weeks back where spring accessory tips were given by Amanda Weiner, Harper Bazaar’s Senior Accessories Editor. And the spring accessory….. leather. Who knew leather for spring? Well they did a beautiful job of accessorizing spring looks with leather.
Remember true beauty comes from within. Don’t cover up what’s inside. Enhance your external by allowing your internal beauty to flow outwards.
