Our philosophy in finding individual style here at My Greatest Love, is to search within and discover inner-beauty.  In doing so, we are able to bring forth our own individual expression of who we are, which is what makes us beautiful. An individual style is not only on the surface level, it is the beauty and grace that comes from within.

This week on my journey of exploring inner-beauty, I discovered something that I struggled with inside. I recognized that I struggled with the understanding of the word confidence and pride. As I build my own individual style, I do not wish to be ugly!!  I don’t think anyone wants to be ugly.  When I think of the word pride, I immediately think ugly. When I think of the word confident, I immediately think of the adjectives beautiful and sexy!!  After studying the definitions of both words and meditating on the meaning of them, I came to this conclusion;

• Confidence is believing in the gifts and abilities you have been given. As a result you are free to be directed to your greatness!
• Pride is believing that you are the source of your gifts and abilities. As a result you are always limited to how well you exercise those gifts and abilities.  Leaving you constantly defined by them.

Every time I find myself feeling stuck and frustrated, I remember to walk in confidence and grace. I am confidence in my gifts and abilities that I have been given. Meanwhile I give myself grace, to allow no stress and no high expectations.  Gracefully taking the next small step, building on my gifts and abilities one step at a time.
